Not the first time such a mess has been made by UK Defence Procurement, RAF had to deal with it in the 60s, with the F111 and Phantom. It went something like this:
Let's buy something that has been designed and is in service elsewere it should be cheaper, then the politicans get involved and say, what about our local aircraft factory, why should johnny foreigner build them when we have empty factories, so a deal is done to do "some" of the manafucting in the UK, then a new set the politicians get involved and say "why are we buying radar, weapons, engins etc.. when we produce them here", so the design has to be changed to accommodate the local equipment, costs go up, and the final outcome doesn't meet what was originally prommised.
I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens with BoxerIt was the year of fire...the year of destruction...the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth...the year of great sadness...the year of pain...and the year of joy.
It was a new age...It was the end of history.
It was the year everything changed.
