To actual answer your question, no their currently is no jet fighter aircraft in service with the IAC or either will there be in fore-seeable future at least till 2010 when the white paper on defence (Which is a goverment working report/plan on the Defence Forces relased in 2000) runs its term.
The Swiss Pilatus PC-9M is currently operates in replacement of Fouga Magister/Marcetti fleet in complementing both roles of previous aircraft with PC-9Ms roles of advanced trainer and light strike/CAS aircraft and provides a great service from Turbo Prop Aircraft.
Hope this information helps.
Best Regards.

we havent had fighter jets since the de haviland vampires were retired in the 70's, the fouga was a trainer not a fighter and was already obsolete when we got itBut there's no danger
It's a professional career
Though it could be arranged
With just a word in Mr. Churchill's ear
If you're out of luck you're out of work
We could send you to johannesburg.

Back in 1966 "Auld Dev" put Ireland's modern military in full view of the people who lined the streets of Dublin to watch the 1916 Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
Watch this short 3 minute RTE colour archive clip and watch with pride at the end as four Vampire Jets of the Air Corp fly overhead.
IN those days Ireland was much poorer than it is today and is more than capable of being able to afford a few Jets. So after 2010 just we'll have to wait and see.
