I remember they started moving it about in the late 90s too. They lost a lot of their visitors as a result.

Organisers have said they may move the show to a new venue in 2009.

Tim Prince, director of the tattoo, said he would move the event rather than cancel again next year.

Well this will would be interesting. Apart from the obvious Farnborough location, where are they going to host such a massive event.

Now im only just under an hour from Farnborough, that looks promising, rain permitting!

    The vulcan will be flying.

Just got a text from a friend who traveled over. Perfect flying conditions today but it was the rain on Friday that did the damage to the grass areas from where the flying display is watched. Been to Fairford twice and it can usually be relied on for a good deal of "airshow face"(red as a berry from looking up all day!).

That is very surprising. I was there in 94 or 95 when there was torrential rain all day saturday, causing most of the flying displays to be cancelled, and the ramp was full of ponds, but it was still a great show between the showers.
