Was asked in a boozer a few questions bout the Air Corps, to which i tried to answer to the best of my knowledge, but heres one that the jury is out on!

Can anyone provide me with the highest maximum altitude of the Aer Corp helicopters please?

and any other strange or startling facts!

    much love,

These are the only figures I could get for the various helicopters in the IRISH AIR CORPS[note spelling ]

    AW139 -5931 meters
    EC135-3045meters
    Dauphine-5865meters
    Gazelle-5000meters
    AIII -3200meters
    Puma-4800meters
    S-61-3787meters

These figures are only to give you a general idea, as different engins and different max take off weights will affect proformance.

All of that information can be found on military.ie HERE

Choose your craft, and then you are looking for "service ceiling".

One little aside, if the aircraft are not equipped to carry crew oxygen they will NEVER exceed an altitude of 10,000 feet.

              Yes

              In the Garda Helicopter

it is illegal to blow bubbles and inhale helium

NB- the bubbles refered to is NOT the Simian that was alleged to have been blown by
              a multi coloured singer

The belly-mounted loudhailer is equipped to translate human speak into gardaspeak; "Have ye no light on yer bike?". There is also a super-secret people sniffer which detects the presence of soap, hence the helicopter targets skangers, winos, students, lorry drivers and the odd culchie or two.
