Turboprop,
You can bring who and what you like, as long as you do not allude to it being a "public" event. It's a gang of like-minded heads getting together to talk about aeroplanes, nothing more.Be very wary of using the "public" word, because you are then raising it above the level of mates getting together and it begins to take on the status of a "public event", which is a whole different ball-game altogether. If you are casually inviting the general public to attend, then you are in a completely different league altogether(insurance/notification to public bodies like the Gardai and Fire Brigade, etc, etc). Given that this started as a few mates getting together to talk aeroplanes and have a few scoops in the Rustic, then you need to be careful how you phrase it, for your own sake.

Turboprop,
There is no harm in making people aware of the fly in-there are pilots using this board too, myself and Canner among them, but he is quite correct regarding how you word this. If it is an open doors event where Joe public and the kids are invited along it is a whole different ball game and not only does it open up a whole can of worms insurance wise, think about all the different kinds of permission required to host such an event- council, Garda etc. It is no longer just a few like minded people dropping in to an airfield for a chat. I dont think that you should be taking the view that you changed your initial post to "keep you happy GTTC". What about the owners of Abbeyshrule and FII? I would consider what Canner said to be very sound advice. Be careful, thats all he's saying.
FII is also a regstered poster here and has not used the forum to advertise the event.
PS, you may find that there are posters using both this and the FII forum. Not mentioning any names....Last edited by Jetjock; 28 January 2009, 02:32.
