That's the thing;there was always a spare aircraft around for a pilot to keep his or her hours up, even a jet provost or a J31 or something rotary. These days,a pilot would have a to mortgage a kidney to find a spare aircraft.

I saw this article, Bombadier in Belfast are looking at making the wings for a drone fighter plane. Long-term, would this concept be worth considering?
I know the current development is for something to fly in tandem with a fast jet, but these concepts can develop quite quickly.Last edited by Flamingo; 26 January 2021, 21:54.'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,

Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

Here is a precis of it.
The modernization of Russia’s armed forces must thus be seen in the context of a new form of complex strategic coercion that employs systematic pressure across 5Ds: disinformation, destabilization, disruption, deception and implied destruction. Russia’s strategic goal is to conduct a continuous low-level war at the seams of democratic societies, and on the margins of both the EU and NATO, to create implicit spheres of influence where little or no such influence would otherwise exist. In the worst case, complex strategic coercion would be used to mask Russian force concentrations prior to any attack on NATO and EU states from above the Arctic Circle and Norway’s North Cape in the north, through the Baltic States and Black Sea region and into the southeastern Mediterranean. The strategy’s enduring method is to use the implicit threat of force to keep the Western allies permanently off-balance, strategically, politically and militarily, and thus to offset any innate advantages afforded Western leaders by either their forces or resources.
In that context one would start to get a little worried if at some stage TU-214R's with their standoff EW, ELINT and SIGINT capabilities start appearing on a regular basis even a couple of hundred kilometres off the Irish Coast.
Rusbridger had come under pressure as a result of the recent admission by the former Guardian columnist Roy Greenslade that he had been a supporter of the IRA while working for the paper.

After a border poll perhaps Derry or maybe even Sligo airport, which has an underutilised facility already in place. Letterkenny air strip is too short and mainly used by microlights. There was talk years ago of building an airport a few km's from the town but nothing ever happened given that Derry airport was 25 minutes away and Carrickfinn airport 40 minutes.

So the new kid the KF-21 has arrived on the block.
The Koreans have finally rolled out their new KF-21 their 4.5gen fighter, no a bad looking aircraft. If the price is right this should give the Gripen a run for its money.

Ok, who is building a kit plane in their back garden?
It was the year of fire...the year of destruction...the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth...the year of great sadness...the year of pain...and the year of joy.
It was a new age...It was the end of history.
It was the year everything changed.

Sometimes, wen you make aircraft models, you need as much detail of the real thing as possible to get it right....
The irony here is if an individual did it it would be at best a long time in jail. When corporate America does it? A fine they will write off for tax purposes...For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.
