Even the presence of a new third 295 will require more maintenance stands, more tools and the appropriate space to hold them, more personnel to service them, more support personnel, more training time for personnel until you get to the sweet spot where the fleet of three has enough manpower, tools, spares and so on and is self-sustaining. If it hasnt happened already, it's probably time to consider more ramp space. The Don main ramp is quite narrow and it doesnt take much to block it up. If they are sticking a hospital in there, the footprint of the place is being reduced.

Is it then time to move fixed wing ops to Shannon?

Tender: Department of Defence Framework Agreement for the provision of Contingency Arrangements for Ministerial Air Transport
In summary: The Minister for Defence wishes to enter into a Framework Agreement with a single supplier for the charter of a short haul jet aircraft and a medium haul jet aircraft, both with flight and cabin crew, to augment the existing Ministerial Air Transport Service operated by the Air Corps. The Framework Agreement will be utilised by the execution of a Call-off contract at times when the military aircraft currently operated by the Air Corps is unavailable or unsuitable for a particular mission.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Their fellow CS in the HSE have managed to charter a King Air for air ambulance. Its ready and waiting at Dublin Airport. Maybe the guy who created this tender should pick up the phone and ring the HSE and ask for the name of their tender creater. If people who know nothing about aircraft can manage to find and lease a King Air, it should not be beyond the wit of the DoD to do the same. Do departments ever talk to each other?
The RAF have been told to have a couple of aircraft at the ready, according to the BBC just now. Our citizens might have to blag a lift from them, if they have room.

Ah sure it’s only around 300, I’m sure nobody will mind us asking for them to be squeezed in…
latest figure was 157 or so registered with DFA. probably as many again who live there permanently. My wife has a friend who is permanent but would probably have an ear and eye open to escape routes if need be.
Already sold, I was reading (but can’t find the article). Canada, Bangladesh and some others I can’t remember
'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
He died that's all. It was his unlucky night. http://www.salamanderoasis.org/poems...nnis/luck.html
