  • we dont need blackhawks

the ec 565 panther is a far more superior craft to the black hawk in my opinion
ill just give the facts(on the panther) and we will have a poll and hopefully that will be that.

    ec 565
    power plant:2 558kw turbomeca arriel 1m1 turboshafts

weights: empty 2262kg empty 4250kg fully laden

performance:max speed 4000kg 184mph, max cruising speed 170 mph, rate of climb 420m/min

armament: naval version anti ship missles homeing torpedoes
army version : wide range of anti-tank weapons used in conjunction with roof mounted sight as well as gun pods and rocket pods.

this heli can transport 10 fully laden troops with supreme manoveurbuility

the black hawk can only go 14mph faster and carry a bigger armament and take more damage and carry 14 troops (mh-60a)

so im just wondering how you people think the blackhawk is the better choice considering it is so much more expensive i.e.what else does it do that the panther doesnt. feedback very welcome

The Panthers 10 troops is in an ideal situation. I.e they are all pretty sveldte, are not carrying silly things like bergens or webbing, and do not expect to get out in a hurry.
Oh by the way,the heli will have trouble finding the DZ also as much of the avionics required for navigation will be removed for the troop carrying fit.
Having a troop carrier capable of carrying 12 troops means you can bang in a full section and still have enough room for a door gunner,if required.

      Spot the difference

Second question is for coffee, how about a list of S70/H60 vs Panther operators, and respective numbers in service?

              Coffee,you are an idiot,arent you?
Of course france have it,cos they build it. Similarly Saudi Arabia are stuck with the naval version cos like us,their frigates are designed for nothing else, and the French have their hands in the pockets of the saudi Royal family.

We tried the dauphin before. It didnt work. This is one of the reasons we now need something like a Blackhawk.

Open your eyes. Irish troops operate in wars around the world as we sit here reading.

Price is not a consideration, life is.
The Dauphin cost the IAC 4 good blokes, no way is a tarted up version going to replace the ones we still have IMHO,

There was nothing wrong with the Dauphins up until the point where someone dcided to fill them with lots of overpriced extras.

all that i am saying is if we want a decent heli wing with numbers we might as well go with the panther. irish people are going to see black hawks as a drain on public spending and maby a waste of money and on top of that some hippe protester is going to use it as a sign of irish militarisation and we irish are easily led. dont get me wrong 2 for the rangers would be a good thing but the state will not cause itself massive expense by making sure every heili for the ac is a black hawk so why not go for the next best thing.

Other than being too small with an endurance too short for the job in the first place?
