either way what is in them?
Given the flat floor with the ramp, I can only assume fuel(and undercarriage). There isn't many other places you can put them. They are standard accross the range.

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

An army is power. Its entire purpose is to coerce others. This power can not be used carelessly or recklessly. This power can do great harm. We have seen more suffering than any man should ever see, and if there is going to be an end to it, it must be an end that justifies the cost. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain

The only thing preventing the Air Corps from doing any kind of SAR is itself. The heads destroyed their own SAR by claiming that a labour dispute among the noncommissioned SAR crewmen brought about the end of AC SAR....The Alouette was too small and had only one engine...the Dauphin was better but not big enough and was a huge budget-eater...getting the S61 was simply too late.Official confidence in the Air Corps was lost.End of story.

What are the logistics involved in the Aer Corp been able to provide 24 hour top cover for SAR ops

            • Hi there
reliable 24-hr parts supply, reliable 24 hr provision of pilots and mechs and support personnel (at a civvie scale, not the bloated military scale), 24-hour access to fuel/ATC/ ambulance/medics.This would mean civil-style disposition of personnel, that is, not hiving people off to play sports/attend military courses/do guards, etc and appropriate pay and conditions (not forgotten about on some remote site and hence last in the promotion scale). The best thing to do would be to set it up exactly as the civvies do it, ie, purely dedicated to SAR and no joyrides for ministers or any extraneous shite. Here's the job, just do it.....
Easy as falling off a log.
              regards

                  The question stands.
