I was in Bray this afternoon and upon hearing a loud roaring noise overhead looked into the sky. I observed five small jet fighter type thingies flying in a V formation with a larger Hercules type thingie in the middle. They were flying north and low.
Later on the five fighter thingies flew by without their big friend.
Well I suppose our secret Air Force we've been hiding on Lambay island had to be discovered eventually...
Ahem..
You're pretty sure the large aircraft was a Hercules, you saw the 4 Turboprops? I'd suggest it might be an RAF Hercules with either Hawks or Harriers. Although the RAF dont use the Hercules as a tanker anymore, the last time I checked
As to what they were doing? No idea. Wasnt something similar to this reported a few years ago?
Ah yes..that. We were invaded by Luxembourg last week, only nobody noticed, and the DF didn't react, it being 12.30pm and the Messes were chocka, so the Luxies took a huff and went home.

It was 6 PC-9s and a CASA as frank says they flew from the SW of Bray, out over the seafront turned North and then turned South, flying the length of the seafront and on towards Greystones. They then the exactly the same circuit of Bray as described.
They were flying at less than 206 metres as they were hidden by Bray Head and very fast.
Hi all
they must be "strafing" a Course in the Glen lately, as I live a few miles from the Glen and there have been PC-9s making low runs all week.
