As Everyone knows, the Reserve Infantry Battalions went through assessements this year for the first time. The 32 Res Inf Bn had its assessment on 14 Oct. There was a professional photographer with them and I have a few pics here from the photographer.
A lot of IMOers were in the Platoon and I thought they would appreciate them,
Because it was a Reserve assessment. Very few people get issued anything other than Parade boots outside the big smoke.
Was the wearing of privately purchased ground boots allowed? (I bought my ground boots, as did the majority of RDF soldiers I know, even those from "the big smoke")

Yes, private purchase boots were allowed - But not everyone has them, Boots aren't cheap. However I would say that that photo was not representative of the 2 Platoons. There were quite a lot of private purchase boots there. Also, only 2 sections out of 6 were doing section in attack and were only on the ground for a max of 2 hours. It was a dry day and a lot of people wore light boots.
