      shortest thread ever?
An army is power. Its entire purpose is to coerce others. This power can not be used carelessly or recklessly. This power can do great harm. We have seen more suffering than any man should ever see, and if there is going to be an end to it, it must be an end that justifies the cost. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain

38, but it was not the same round as used in the S&W 38.

            dont forget the PPK

variations of it predated the BAP

I asked a similar question here almost 4 years ago. http://forum.irishmilitaryonline.com...light=revolver

As I understand it, the first issue sidearm was the Webley MkVI in .455, followed by surplus 38/200 revolvers (not sure if they were S&W, Webley or Enfield or a mix thereof though).

The question never got answered when I first asked it, would be great if IMO has gained someone who knows in the meantime.

                    S&W 38/200

                    Webley MkVI .455

                    Enfield 38/200

                    Webley 38/200

Warthog, you'll really impress me if you tell the audience the name of the senior AC officer who managed to shoot himself in the leg, entirely by accident, with one of those little guns.

There's another story about one of them "going missing" from the possession of a bigwig.
