Jeez, Dev, only a year later with a reply....
"Well, stone me! We've had cocaine, bribery and Arsenal scoring two goals at home. But just when you thought there were truly no surprises left in football, Vinnie Jones turns out to be an international player!" (Jimmy Greaves)!"

Think it is A Admin section that are responsible for ADC, I've known of officers being detailed for ADC for a week or so, it could be to cover overseas/courses/leave but it has happened.

I believe the President has about 4 who represent her and one is a Lt Col?

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

The Taoiseach (and the President) also have more than one ADC at any time.

Take a look at anytime over the past few years when the Taosigh has his ADC in attendance, its this guy, only because he served here.

I've seen others represent the Tasoigh when he is not present at funerals etc but when the Taoisech is present its always Mick Treacy.

No he hasn't. He has one. An Officer might get caught to cover the appointment for a funeral but it could be any Officer with the rank of Comdt.

Former training Corporal 3 Cav cadre CFR and when promoted to Commandant was promoted into the job as an ADC..was/ is his appointment.

Got some back round on it this afternoon.

As was said its his job and when some else is seen, Micks having a day off!

The President it would seem has a couple, ones a LT. Col, and at one point there was a female captain appointed.
