  • Any idea?

Ok, after reading the charter, I think I should be alright in asking this question.

I'm living in Newbridge and from time to time you will see the odd PDF member coming in for lunch, picking up things etc.

But over the last few days I've seen a few lads in DPM with no rank markings, bush hats instead of Berets, longish hair and either beards or stubble ... basically, not how the usual soldier should look (from my understanding).

Now, there's no way these lads are recruits (so there goes the no rank marking reason).

Or is the army getting less strict with its members presentation?

Ha, I might have been away from it for a while - but standards haven't dropped that quickly

Were they speaking Russian by any chance?

They were most likely recruits, before they pass out and get there berets and rank markings.
