  • TM 201 on CD?

    Can anyone tell me if there is an official channel that I can go through to get TM201 and any of the other manuals I should have as an infantry NCO?

    I know that there is a security issue by sending out digital copies of manuals but no more of a threat than the old photocopier provides if you have the time.

    Im spending a lot of time working on lessons for tactics and it would be so handy to be able to use the find function in Adobe reader or MS Word to be able to jump straight to the relevent bits and pieces.

    Anyway.. keeping security in mind, Im not asking for someone to email it to me if they have it.. honest..

    If only NCOs had access to a secure intranet with manuals there to be used.

          Your unit must have a location in a barracks somewhere.

            Intranet Presence for TM201

            Dougal,

            I presume you're in the South, by location ?, If so, all units in the S.Bde have Intranet access, try your HQ element. All required material can be found on the eLearning page, 1 S.Bde FCA site, under 1 S.Bde, under Army.

              It does but my centre has no net access.. I'll ask around and see can I travel to Cork or KK and find someone who'd let me copy the manual(s) to CD.

                Although I haven't seen them myself, I have been assured that most manuals that you need are on the intranet...if you cant get them through your unit, try asking your cadre to contact the cadre in another unit and ask them to burn a disc and send it to your unit. Failing that, like smegers said, BTC should have no problems getting you manuals.

                  one tip i have, if posible put it on usb, you can then burn it to cd after. the computer you get the manual from may have intranet access but it may not have cd burning software or hardware, it should be able to use a simple usb key though

                    why dont you boys

                    get your CO to ring D Trg and ask the very helpful chaps up there for the fabled disc

                    they are good blokes and will help you

                    or check the library in the Curragh
                    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
                    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
                    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
                    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
                    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
                    Are full of passionate intensity.

                      Thanks for all the tips, I'll give them a shot and report back. Cheers!

                        DF computers generally have the CD and USB drives disabled. You might have to print of a hard copy.

                          East BTC issues a CD of manuals to all students on PNCO, Standards, POfficer etc. and are more then willing to help out anyone who asks for anything else. Your own BTC should be able to pull the finger out and help you.

                            No. You can see them, you just can't use them.
