  • Army dismantles pipebombs in Fairview

    The army bomb disposal team has dismantled two viable pipebombs in Fairview Park in Dublin.

    A third device was discovered last night in Ronanstown during a planned search by gardaí.

    The devices in Fairview Park were discovered in bushes by a man out walking his dog at around 8am.

    Members of the Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team were called to the scene shortly afterwards.

    Fairview Park has been reopened to the public and garda forensic experts are now investigating the remnants of the devices.

    Nobody was injured during the operation. A spokesman for the Defence Forces said it is not clear who was responsible for the devices.

    The Ronanstown device was similar to the ones discovered in Fairview Park.

    Gardaí are appealing for anybody who saw any unusual activity in the Fairview Park area to contact them at Clontarf Garda Station on 01-6664800.

    Please PM me to correct me.

    But, not if I state an opinion, only if I state something as truth!!!

    I have bad opinions but I stick by them!!!

      I was there when the EOD had just arrived.

      I bet the reservist there didn't wake up expecting to attend to that!

        I would shit bricks if I had to try and dismantle anything other than a pipe bomb!
        Are you trying to tell us that you have dismantled pipe bombs
        Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
        Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
        The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
        The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
        The best lack all conviction, while the worst
        Are full of passionate intensity.

                    Could be either a Student Garda or a Student Reservist. Both sets of students wear the blue sliders on the epaulettes, the difference being the Reservist will have 'GR' on his.

                        I stood and watched a car drive over one once.....

                        Mr ATO was not a happy boy

                        I also handed over a cordon one night having pointed out the devices exact location to another crowd of fools who came to relieve us .

                        It snowed very heavily that night, and the lazy ***** who had taken over from me cleared off in the morning without properly briefing their relief .....
