Dont think so.look more closely at the colours.Irish dpm indigital pattern.Trial kit i believe.

p.s;would anybody have a scan of the article in the irish mail on sunday from nov 11th about the cost of all the new kit for the individual soldier? I was out of the country and missed it.
"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

Thats the M-249 SAW minimi variant with collapsible buttstock and shortened barrel. Its both belt and magazine fed, however thats not a magazine it looks like a 200 rnd nutsack .. a reusable ammo pouch that makes a lot less noise and is much more robust than the ammo container it is drawn in.
