"No, they're trying to fly the tank"

For those of you who are bored, take these figures and put them into excel, draw a scatter graph and add a linear trendline - 2013 is the magic year!

If you're that bored then an even better step would be to post the graph as a JPEG snap...

              The linear trend...

(Ptes are the really steep donward trend)

The trends speak for themselves. Unless something changes we have oh, 2 years left of the RDF?

There will be plenty of Officers and NCOs about though.

A exponential view of things for those who are interested.

                  Graph really highlights retention issues...

Taken as a total strength, it starts to level off.
Kinda looks like a half-life TBH

                    % decreases from 2003 to 2007
                    Officers: 8.73
                    NCO's: 17.92
                    Privates: 45.58
                    Total: 36.11

                    Nerds the lot of us!

That's because half life is just a feature of any type of decay (but is particularly useful in exponential decay, which this is)

                        IF You really want the breakdown of the 2007 figure;

                        Pilot Integrated Training Services PQ 12 & 27 4 Oct 07.doc

Furthermore take a look at the average manweek expenditure per rank, even though you know guys that might have done the 42 days or more !

But is anyone taking into account the effect of the pending recession.

Historicaly the membership of the RDF(FCA), and other volentary organisations, peeks at times of economic recession.

Don't fear, when all the lbrs can no longer afford their cars and families are living off all those parttime jobs that the school kids are doing you will see numbers rise again.
