    A schoolboy error.

    From military.ie,

    The Permanent Defence Force consists of an Army, an Air Corps and a Naval Service.

    For Army Corps, which the Air Corps is not included go to,

    The Army is organised on conventional military lines providing a sufficiently flexible structure to carry out all the roles assigned by Government. The Army is a standing force and provides the primary capabilities for joint military operations at home and combined military Peace Support Operations abroad.

      Getting back to the issue at hand.I was talking to the sgt major from ceremonial branch in dfhq the other day.new arms drill being perfected by the senior cadets at the moment.Junior cadets will be next to be trained with a video also being produced by them for d trg.
      Sling willl still be on the rifle(tightend)but rifle held down by side.ground arms is coming back in ,as is the change arms.Arms drill based on teachings from austria,new zealand and australia.
      On the uniform side.females number one hat to be replaced to hat similar to females p.a one.Peaked cap for males.brigade colours were supposed to be on a band around cap,but apparantly the orange band sucked.Green and white was then considered but cadet school cribbed!Still hasnt been finallised yet.
      It is proposed that coy sgt will get a sash and fall in on the right of their coys on parade.
      "Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

        and the Cav are getting a new ceromonial uniform

        well only the Dublin Cav- as they are involved in the escorts
        Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
        Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
        The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
        The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
        The best lack all conviction, while the worst
        Are full of passionate intensity.

                Yes

                From what I heared your Tunic is going to be a mixture of wool and male bovine material

                it will come to the waist where it will rest seductively on the hips- it will be tight fitting to symbolise the unity of strength and purpose

                There will be no lapel in memory of those who died during the famine and the collar will come righ up to the chin (s) (sssss)

                To signify the importance of the reserve there will be a half moon shaped flash on the left

                As far as I remember it is in purple writing on a yellow background

                the trousers will be baggy (flattering to the more fuller figure) and stylishly gathered in

                at the ankle by means of a Putee type device

                    I'm picturing myself twirling in the mirror right now
                    "Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

                    "No, they're trying to fly the tank"

                      Michael Collins: You've kept us waiting 700 years. You can have your seven minutes.

                          Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.
