RTE : Exercise Slaney, 02/03/08 Army reserves train in Co Wicklow
TVMS is part of the CSSC, not the Logs Base. The Transport Corps is not gone anywhere.
I stand, not for the first time, corrected.
But Base workshops used to be part of tpt they are now DFLB
And both DFLB and CSSC are part of DFTC are they not?
But although D.Tpt still exists each tpt unit is a coy of the relevant LSB. You would not consider the tpt element of 5Bn as part of the tpt corp so how can the tpt element of the LSB be considered as a tpt corps any more? So if all the various tpt corps units have been subsumed into the new units how can the tpt corps still exist?
I know were you are comming from but IMHO the collar badges are historical.

Workshops (Like all Corps workshops) are now in the DFLB, that doesn't mean that the Corps are gone. I bet there is also a Tpt Det in the SSU.
Yes but although the Sigs (CIS) work shop may be DFLB the units are CIS is not part of some new Bat.
Arty, Cav, AD, MP and Eng were left with their corps autonomy in tact. No gunnery battalion was formed of Intellegence battalion. Where as Tpt and Medics were "merged" ( and I am using the word loosly) to form a new battalion. Hence the name Logistics Support Battalion as opposed to callng it Logs support services. Which IMHO would indicate autonomy of the corps.
If Tpt has been subsumed, is there a D Logs?
Ah but there are vested interests protecting their jobs ensuring that D.Tpt remains. Long term it would only take a minor reorg to make a D.Logs and put the other Directors under its control.
The result of that would have been Gunners turning up in Blessington with rifles
eh no we'd have dug in around fentons, and mined the approaches to and from said establishment and then conducted fighting patrols to the mess to replenish stock after we'd drank fentons dry.....
But there's no danger
It's a professional career
Though it could be arranged
With just a word in Mr. Churchill's ear
If you're out of luck you're out of work
We could send you to johannesburg.
yeah but the weekend was dry so i'm sure raiding it would have been a profitable, venture,
funny though the last time i did a gaurd, was in the glen and the mess got robbed....
i wonder why i havent done one since

Think of the geographical positions of each location....
"Well, stone me! We've had cocaine, bribery and Arsenal scoring two goals at home. But just when you thought there were truly no surprises left in football, Vinnie Jones turns out to be an international player!" (Jimmy Greaves)!"
