The Irish Army is searching for a €390k spydrone that disappeared in Africa in March. According to military sources, the unmanned air vehicle vanished follwing a technical error during a mission in chad.

OMG, They didnt did they??? Now that is the Funniest Darwin Awards moment I have heard this year
Darwin Awards are awarded to people who have done a service to mankind by removing themselves from the genepool. Losing a UAV isn't really in the same vein.

An army is power. Its entire purpose is to coerce others. This power can not be used carelessly or recklessly. This power can do great harm. We have seen more suffering than any man should ever see, and if there is going to be an end to it, it must be an end that justifies the cost.Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain
Kindly refrain from posting rumours/reasons why the UAV went walkies. Last thing we want are journalists using IMO as a source for bad press for the DF.
In an unknown and sparsely poulated terrain, there would be few clues as to where it went. With the lack of helicopters to search for it, there's no great surprise that it hasn't turned up yet.
You will never have a quiet world until you knock the patriotism out of the human race
