    Got this online.
    There are several legends about him including the one in which he was crossing a river when a child asked to be carried across. When Christopher put the child on his shoulders he found the child was unbelievably heavy. The child, according to the legend, was Christ carrying the weight of the whole world. This was what made Christopher patron saint of travelers and is invoked against storms, plagues, etc..

    St George really gets around.

    He is patron saint of many things.

    Surprisingly of England considering he wasn't English and never went near England.

    Also there is Christopher. he has many patronages one of which being Drivers!!!

    for those interested, heres a list of the patron saints of Military Units. I dont know how much units know about these, but it might stimulate some thoughts, debats and memories on the subject.

    St George the Dragon Slayer, Patron Saint of the Cavalry (now armor)-

    St Sebastian, Patron Saint of Soldiers and Archers

    St Michael, Patron Saint of Paratroopers and Commandos.

    St Theresa, Patron Saint of Aviators

    St Brendan, Patron Saint of Navigators and Sailors

    St Joan of Arc, Patron Saint of Servicewomen

    St Leonard, Patron Saint of Prisoners of War.

    St Barbara, Patron Saint of Artillery.

    St. Maurice, Patron Saint of Infantry




    anyone know the patron saint of combat medics?
