do any other units get involved in this type of work?
The 2nd FAR did it a few months ago with help from the 62 FAR, storied from a good source say that a tree hugging hippy was really offended that the army was collecting for just 1 charity and why they weren't collecting for the people being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, some people are just nuts
i was readin (a while ago) that some PDF lads did a mowag pull for a kildare charity......
But there's no danger
It's a professional career
Though it could be arranged
With just a word in Mr. Churchill's ear
If you're out of luck you're out of work
We could send you to johannesburg.
does the DF have a prefered charity to which they do work for?
or do they have their own? i know they have previously been invloved in projects in the Leb
Yes, there is a DF charity, called the Defence Forces Benevolent Fund. This is used to
assist former members of the DF who have fallen on hard times...

C Coy 56 Bn IN Boyle did a stretcher run around Co. Roscommon last year and raised over 10k for telethon. One of our Lt.s (the organiser) from the coy was interviewed on the programme on telethon night in fact he was in DPM uniform with a Sgt and were the only military on programme that night!

Where did Mod get the picture???? Well done.
:redface::redface:
Not one of my best I am afraid but at least it tells a story. Now that is not the actual group involved in the run however. The chief did not come with us. All in pic are or were in our company or its predecessor prior to re org.
Look at the top of the PDF file when you open it, for the answer to that !!!

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
