After Reading the other Tread on names tags and other people opinions on name tags i i decided to start a poll on sed matter.

My personal opinion, dpm name tags are a total load of s**t and shouldn't be allowed, standard green ones is all that should be allowed.
    79
are ok and should be allowed on uniform.
    34.18%
    27
are stupid and shouldnt be allowed on anything.
    11.39%
    9
are ok but only on non uniform items.
    18.99%
    15
are stupid. Green ones only please.
    35.44%

Well, I am neither of the first 2 options. They should not be on general Issue, but they should be allowed,

They should only be allowed to be used on the ground or on Items of Kit though. Not on clothing while in Barracks.
I probably am wrong, sorry about that!!!

Please PM me to correct me.

But, not if I state an opinion, only if I state something as truth!!!

I have bad opinions but I stick by them!!!

Not enough options. Uniform is uniform - Green nametags only but marking gear while on the ground is different.

What is the point in DPM name tags? Depending on the print who can't read the name.

                  DPM Rank Markings ?

What about throwing in Rank Markings, noticed a few at the RDF shoot in Oct, had difficulty in making out the ranks !, more so in the rain.

Does anyone think that the tricolour should not be on the DPMs ?
As in the tricolour - the large one with "IRELAND" on it - should be
                          reserved for overseas service ?

My slant on the nametags is that I can't understand how such a
simple item of issue kit is so hard to get issued with, for RDF
                          personnel !!!

                          Likewise for rank markings

The guy who is doing the DPM tags is exploiting a market.

However, they are non issue items of kit, so it only takes one
scorpy BSM or C/S one fine day and..........
"Well, stone me! We've had cocaine, bribery and Arsenal scoring two goals at home. But just when you thought there were truly no surprises left in football, Vinnie Jones turns out to be an international player!" (Jimmy Greaves)!"

The Tricolour on DPM is required by international law - PfP.

And there is a directive stating that the large Tricolour is only to be worn overseas and not the small one.
