  • Surely there is some bit of discretion shown where eyesight is below the limit but not too far off especially with the NSR?

      • Lucky I've got my 20:20 vision then so. Standards important though especially with fitness.

        • NSR eyesight standards are not a DF or even Naval requirement, it is an international Maritime one.

            • If only
"Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

"No, they're trying to fly the tank"

              • Warrant Officers....giving some of the technical skill sets the DF is missing, it might be an interesting concept.
What are you cackling at, fatty? Too much pie, that's your problem.

                • Well it looks like the Greens are pro-Reserve:

The contribution of all members of the Defence Forces and their families to the security and freedoms which we enjoy in Ireland and the promotion of peace abroad should be properly recognised and valued.

                  We will:

Develop a system whereby all citizens would be encouraged to follow a path of service that contributes to their communities and contributes to the promotion of peace and defence in the world without necessarily making a commitment to full time contracts but through the reserve or civil defence services instead
Provide PRSI credits to employers who give unpaid leave for training or duty
Underpin military courses with civilian accreditation from educational bodies, to allow employers to benefit from better qualified staff
It's just a shame they've got Bob Hope of getting into power again.

                  • Did they mention not giving the df any guns?

Do they have links to PANA that previously wanted a Peace Corps?

                          • Well aside from shitcanning the EUBG, the Shinners managed to omit the Defence Forces entirely from their manifesto. One wonders what their designs are there, considering that they want the full demilitarisation of Europe.

They also want us out of PfP but the manifesto doesn't say that

                              In fairness, it does say:
Keep the NS in the Med
                              Keep UN ops overseas

Higher age limit not to be changed (Specialist Reserve to be 45)
Lt-Capt promotion competition to be advertised in April
