Also means single service versions of old JC&S

Where's the version for the RDF, what is the purpose of the RDF? It lacks a mission statement, a purpose.
What are you cackling at, fatty? Too much pie, that's your problem.

          • Ireland lacks a security policy.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Where's the version for the RDF, what is the purpose of the RDF? It lacks a mission statement, a purpose.

              White Paper 2015

              8.3 Role of the RDF
              8.3.1 Primary Role
As previously outlined, the Review Steering Committee did not identify a requirement for the PDF to be augmented by members of the RDF within the day-to-day operational profile. However, they did note that members of the FLR with watch-keeping qualifications had augmented the Naval Service during the summer leave period, but this had not been a feature in recent years. The White Paper Working Groups also did not identify a requirement, within the roles undertaken by the Defence Forces, for the deployment of Reservist to augment the PDF on day-to-day basis.
Having regard to the findings of the VFM Review and more recent considerations, the Government have decided that the primary role of the Reserve is:
              • To augment the PDF in crisis situations.
In non-crisis situations, the main focus will be on training to prepare for this role. This approach is currently underpinned by sections 87, 88, 90, 92 and 93 of the Defence Act 1954 and associated regulations. However, the types of tasks that the RDF could be required to undertake in crisis situations are varied. These could include:
              • Conventional military operations in defence of the State.
              • ATCP support, including port security tasks.
              • ATCA support.
              • Barrack security or other supports that facilitate the release of members of the PDF for operational duties.

The Department of Defence will undertake a review of the provisions of the Defence Acts and bring forward proposals for any changes to the Defence Acts that may be required in order to reflect the possible crisis situations, where activation of members of the Reserve is appropriate.

              8.3.2 State Ceremonial Role
Members of the RDF continue to play an important role in contributing to state ceremonial events. The Government value this contribution and have decided that it should be assigned as a formal role for the Reserve as follows:
              • To contribute to state ceremonial events.

Seven years old, no clarification on "crisis situations". The Lithuanian taskings reads like a mission statement, the Irish white paper reads like an after thought.

Lets write another report that nobody will read.

                  • Looking back at that we are in a different place. I've never once met the Department to come and talk to people on the ground, even the commission did that little bit . IN fairness to the General Staff down the years, they have listened (some ).

If you read the new R5 ( not a restricted document) you can see that the Department remains completely out of touch with what is on the ground
"Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

"No, they're trying to fly the tank"

One wonders what they do on a day to day basis? I imagine a Scooby Doo esq villain, scheming ways to thwart Irelands Defence.

                      • The Department of Defence can best be described as a venn diagram of (those in the civil service who wanted to decentralize to Newbridge) union (those who have a good thing going in Renmore (pay section) in Galway and wont take any risk that might put that at risk, i.e. play it safe ) . This literally tells you all you need to know.

                        • Even the Galway thing doesn't hold water, as there are other Depts to be found in Galway. The only reason people live in Newbridge by choice is to commute to Dublin.

In fairness, any dealing I’ve had with or been aware of ….Renmore is efficient and helpful

the Excel pay sheet came from there
                            getting AF14C paid
