I take that doesn't include the cost of personal weapons either?

Book price for rifle being £750 at time of purchase. Cost was notional based on the method of purchase, cost of replacement to the individual would be difficult to calcltae given he would have to billed for the original weapon and unless he could supply sufficient butter vouchers the payment would possibly be void!

thats to you or me though from manufacturer, not bulk DF prices.
"He is an enemy officer taken in battle and entitled to fair treatment."
"No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."

Exactly it should be slightly cheaper to buy 8,000 over buying 1 !

I have the bergen in dutch dpm, Retail of it was 300odd i got it half price when they were closing!

€300 for the helmet seems excessive?

8000 sets? I thought 12000 sets were got initially? Makes you wonder where the rest of the sets are, Very few are being issued to the RDF even on a temporary issue basis!

Total cost of the IPLCS less CBA is E616.27
                CBA costs approx E1,100.
"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.
