  • Duty Money Cuts???

I heard from a (fairly) reliable source today thatunarmed duty allowence was to be cut! any one else hear any thing similar?

I was actually thinking about that also a few weeks ago. I know serving members of the df aren't gonna like the idea. The Brits don't pay theirs soldiers for non armed duties from what i know, but the df would save some amount of money not paying soldiers for such duties throughout the year. Just a taught.
Don't stand there GAWPING, like you've never seen the hand of God BEFORE!!

yes im sure it would would save the DF alot of money, but its going to cripple any of us that rely on the extra cash! I for one regularly do unarmed dutys but the duty money is the only consolation i get for working shift hours and most weekends! I will be down about 600 euros a month between the income and pension levy and the aboliation of duty money! as usual there hitting the soldiers up because we are an easy target!

what duty panel are you on that you get

600 Euros a month in unarmed duty money

Duty money should NOT be touched

i said in my last post that the 600 euro include the pension and income levys. and thats before tax. my unit works a shift system, so when im on a 12hr shift i get less 24hr duty allowence. when you take into account that the norm is 4 12hr shifts in a week, im down at least 100 euro a week in duty pay alone! thats the only compensation we get for working alot of weekends/nights/holidays

            No worries

just wondering who (apart from me) was doing that many duties

you still seem to be doing a lot

unless your on a special panel that throws out grub to hungry folk

or open a large metal structure to facilitate the egress and exit of personnel

and I reckon there will be more than just you and me suffering these problems

The Army Wives Association may have to be reactivated yet! The DF are a soft touch for cutbacks total apathy from public in non garrison towns and of course no industrial action, this is only the start of it.
