Minister for Defence (Deputy Willie O’Dea): Information Zoom Subhead D of the Defence Vote includes payments for Reserve Defence Force (RDF) training, gratuities, allowances and also includes grants paid into unit funds. The outturn on the Subhead for 2007 was €8,839,000. As the RDF is an integral part of the Defence Forces a range of other costs are spread across a number of Subheads. When we had intergrated pers doing their 3 weeks plus paid week ends.
Also there was more than a few bods doing the 42 day max.
Since the paid week end has gone out and more than likely most will only get 1 week FTT odds are that the figyre will be much lower for 2009.Without supplies no army is brave.
