Hi just wondering if anyone knows how long the attenuation period lasts ? And what does the uniform that you are given consist of and is it new ??

Attestation period?
If you bring everything necessary with you the first time you go down, your security clearance should be sent off that within 1/2 days. That will take 2-3 months. During those 2/3 months, you will do an audiogram & medical. Realisitically you medical will probably around the time your security clearance comes back. You will then be sworn in to fulfill a period of 3 years service (4 yrs for NSR).Comment

WHen you join you are subject to a security clearance. This can take a variable amount of time , from 4 days to 8 months . There is nothing that can be done about speeding this up.
However an induction syllabus exists for you to be trained up on while you are waiting.
The uniform , again is a variable quantitity since RDF have a certain priority when it comes to getting clothing issued but normally should consist of
1: Magnum boots
2: DPM trousers and belt
3: DPM shirt
4: Tshirt
5: Beret and Cap Badge
6: DPM Smock
Anything else is a bonus at recruit issue.
These issues should be new, you may be given part-worn at the time but you are entitled to have it exchanged for new at the earliest opportunity."Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

Yeah saw some recruits being issued with track suits the other night , when I think back to what we were issued in Collins circa 1977 it never ceases to amaze

I understand that the paedopants tracksuits are no longer on issue, and now wearing the bottoms doesn't require you to sign on the sex offenders register first.Comment

The issue PDF tracksuit is being changed (apparently) and I have noticed that the recent issues to my company have included a complentatry tracksuit (old pattern). Still a nice track suit though. As trelheim said, anything above the basic is a bonus and fair play to you if manage to receive it.Comment

Yep, the new issue tracksuit is a predominantly green colour scheme, and not
with figure forming tracksuit bottoms, unlike the previous predominantly blue
