I don't necessarily see why they couldn't bring recruits up to the very basis 2* or O/S standard at a single joint location. The Canadian Forces use a single recruit pipeline for new entrants initially. They are streamed towards their relevant service after passing out.

The important thing is that once you enlist in one branch, you can't decide mid training that you now want to be in another.

Is it centralised enough?
Far the consistent output required you'd need somewhere about the size of a smaller Barracks, similar to how AGS took over Templemore. You require the facilities to house, feed, arm and secure the recruits and their instructors.
I'd lean more towards the DFTC, where the infrastructure already exists, it's just a matter of repurposing some of the underutilised buildings, and perhaps building some purpose built ones? Maybe even make the military college an actual college that trains all, not just officers? For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Much of Gormo is really a green field side with less demolition work required (like DFTC range more or less on site but not an ETR). Probably cheaper to built it there. Cheaper and quicker than demolition/refurbishment?
No matter where was chosen a lot of building work would be required
would agree though kind of out of the way too…. Not necessarily a bad thing though

1000 recruits a year, with initial training of 12 weeks each is going to eat up a lot of man power. The idea of the establishment of a dedicated Military College for all is actually a great idea. You could potentially even roll in the initial parts of cadet training with one of the 12 week blocks.
The issue would be, you'd need to run 2-3 platoons per intake, which equates to a decent sized training staff to manage this, you're likely looking at the formation of a Training Battalion. What are you cackling at, fatty? Too much pie, that's your problem.

I’d love to see the Military College get university status (and as part of that being sufficient resources), you could even have some civilians educated there. But the numbers going through would need to be high to justify it when you consider you need all the third level lecturers and SMEs. It would also need research opportunities etc.
military.ie says both 17 and 15 weeks for army recruit training, so let’s say 16 weeks. That means you can train max 3 intakes a year (ignoring 2-3* training) with 2 x 2 week blocks of leave. You’d need 333 recruits per intake to hit the 1,000 annual figure.
that’s 10 recruit platoons of about 30 at any one time in training (so a battalion sized unit)! There aren’t the personnel to train that many!
