    Course list

    Hi all,

    I believe there was a defence forces Kayak course run recently that i would have been interested in doing but i have only heard about it recently and as far as i am aware it is now over. Does any one know if there will be another available soon?
    I have asked my units cadre staff about future courses but he said he cannot find out. More like he doesent want to i would imagine,Also as far as i know the routine orders are posted up in a part of my lines that are out of bounds to privates.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    find out who the rep for Kayaking is in yoru Bde

    if your soon to be ex cadre wont tell you

    ring the DFAA ( number in book) ask them

    make contact with the rep- tell him/it of your experiences in Kayaking - give him/it your

    contact details and also find out if their is any DF Kayaking organised outings

    join them

      1. DFCAT would have run the Kayaking course, the Adventure training lads. DDFT or DFPES might be a place to start finding out, R.O's typically do not advertise these courses.

      ATD09 did mention kayaking courses.

      2. It sounds like you are RDF. If so you would have had to be paid to be on the course, and would have had to take mandays and be approved to do so, unlikely in the current climate

        Hedgehog soon to be ex cadre staff is right,wonder what there up to some times.....

        Trellheim excuse my ignorance but what is ATD09?
        Would it not be possible tp take part in courses unpaid? I have done this already this year with my own unit.

                      Also, as mentioned earlier, there is a DF publication - Annual training Directive, that lists all DF and RDF courses for the forthcoming year. Normally available from your Trg Cadre or CSgt.

                        I think if the Unit puts the notice board in an out of bounds location

                        what chance is there of a lad getting to see the TD

                              Lads im not sure about the rest of RDF units but our cadre sgt is a c**t and deliberatly goes out of his way to annoy upset people and wont lift a finger to help us. Whenever hes asked about a course ect his answer is you cant/wont get it. Also any body going on a course has to be cleared with him,now i thought that was the COY IC job. Does any one else have that problem or is it just my unit
