    James Dee spent 28 years in the Irish Army among his military occupations were Army Ranger, Driver , Member of the Military Police Special Investigaton Branch and Infantry Sergeant

    The book deals with the Authors life from joining up in 1967 in Sarsfield Barracks, His experiences and opinions of his days of recruit training through to his days as a peacekeeper in Southern Lebanon! Anecdotal tales of funny instances that broke up the 6 moth tours including being asked by a lebanese shop keeper in a perfect Athlone accent "Hows the new by pass workin out for yez" despite the lady having never been to Ireland

    The book is filled with memories and poetry written by the author during his career which transport the reader to "Old Mac Donagh square " during recruit drill training and to "Bra'chit Camp camp in 1980s Lebanon!

    A book well worthy of a read of anyone who has ever served In the Irish Defence Forces or aspires to!!

        Tales of Brothels

        Easily knowing you were never in the Leb
        Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
        Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
        The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
        The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
        The best lack all conviction, while the worst
        Are full of passionate intensity.

                      Was the dog in the process of establishing a brothel in the AO?
