Either a 5.56 HK416 or a 7.62 HK417, think it says 417 on the brass catcher so I'd say its the the latter

HK 417, they got them as spotters weapons and it does say 417 on the bass catcher

"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

                        there's a recession on,give them 303's and Bren guns

i think it's disgraceful that the department wasted that money
when's there's perfectly good weapons it storage

I'm sure the 40mm UGL could be fitted to the Bren with a little modification

303s? Why do they need to train with real guns at all? They are dangerous things and could put someones eye out....

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.
