  • IPLCS For sale in the Brugha?

Very much doubt this but having spoke to some members of my unit (rdf) they all confirmed that when in Cathal Brugha Barracks recently they saw a price list for the IPLCS equipment Daysack, Battlevest Bergen ect Surely this cant be right would this not fall under the same law as selling issued gear???

Could anyone confirm or deny this??

No not for sale. What they saw was a list stating the "Line value" of each part of the system. From the internal padded belt to the Helmet and everything inbetween. That is not a buyer guide but a Billers guide.IE how much the CQ can Bill you if you go deficient an item of kit.Probably saw it in the Clothing and soft ordnance stores(as they are now known). There is a similar list on the wall in the stores in my Bks.

"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

Yes. As Apod mentions, Clothing regulations have "on repayment" sections, where you the soldier must pay the cash value of the item to the stores if found deficient on inspection.

Since said system may be subject to abuse it is therefore sound practice to put the cash value of each item up on the wall so the soldier knows he is not being overcharged.

Any idea where you can get this info?

Putting together a project proposal for submission to contacts within the PDF.

It would be great to include a cost analysis as everything is money orientated. The most recent figures I have are for Basic DPM clothing from 2004-2006.

You won't get one, unless Integrated (not happening at this moment in time)

And NO ONE is gonna "donate" one to you either

The new daysack (along with the other IPLCS items are marked with a serial
            number

Thus it is an easy matter for the MPs to track back who owns the item, should
it be given away/be sold/"sprout wings and fly"

A similar system is being introduced for Russian conscripts

Why do you want to buy the PDF issue Daysack?
Theres better daysacks for similar money like the Camelbak Tirzip.

Try the clothing stores in the brugha. They'll have a list
To close with and kill the enemy in all weather conditions, night and day and over any terrain
