  • Integration in the 50s

There isn't much information on the web about it apart from saying it didn't work.... anyone know anything about it??

I think it was brigades that were integrated, ie 1 PDF infantry battalion and 2 FCA.

Between 1959 and 1979 the PDF and FCA were integrated to produce 6 Brigades.

As an example the organisation of 2 Eastern Brigade was:

    5Bn
    7Bn (FCA)
    8Bn (FCA)
    2 Motor Squadron
    2FAR [10Bty, 14Bty (FCA) and 19Bty (FCA)]
    2 Engineer Coy
    2 Signal Coy
    2 S+T Coy
    2 Medical Coy
    2 MP Coy (FCA)

    27Bn formed 1973
    29Bn formed 1977
