The COS is worng to wear the Glengarry.
Kudos on having a Bugler on campThings fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Exactly Murph
but surely as COS he is bound by the same regs as the newest and most junior Private-
Or is it simply a matter of do as I sayThings fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

I do think the Glengarry is wrong as COS as his Corps is now the Army as a whole as apart to a seperate section.
While his peaker is the same as normal, so should his lanyard, again he retains his lanyard. Should DF HQ not have their own lanyard as they do flash and then if so isn't standardized headgear appropriate while in all forms of uniform and regardless of rank shouldn't the COS be obliged to comply.
I know there is probably a certain 'one up manship ' coming from the Cavalry but point made get over it and conform as did the forebearers of the job.Covid 19 is not over ....it's still very real..Hand Hygiene, Social Distancing and Masks.. keep safe

In the 80/90's there was a CQ in the ASM in Cathal Brugha who came from the Cav and continued to wear the Glengarry.

At risk of censure for referring to BA but Gen M Jackson a recent BA COS always wore his para beret even when receiving a decoration at Buck Castle albeit with out the para wing badge, poss the trend has arrived here.
The high vis sliders are fine so long as there are no hostile snipers about.

Hi Vis sliders really defeat the purpose of Uniform dress.
It would lead to believe that the senior ranks have suddenly acquired an inferiority complex and need their rank markings to be highly visible.
has this begun since the previous COS's demise or was it in place prior?
I reckon they're desperately trying to figure out how to get gold braid on their respective headress at this stage.Covid 19 is not over ....it's still very real..Hand Hygiene, Social Distancing and Masks.. keep safe
