The problem is that the Phoneix is a hape of shite
that I wouldnt use to wipe my shapely arse after a feed of turnips- brussel sprouts and guninnness,
however if you scan and post if for us all to read it free,
then I can be satisfied that shitehawk is not benefiting from my moneyThings fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

any online link? what is it if not?I knew a simple soldier boy.....
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.
In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
And no one spoke of him again.
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

I used to write some stuff for it on a specialist area (nothing to do with military/security), so I know the main 2 guys there, I'm going back to 1980's. A few times when I questioned some of their mil/sec stuff (had a few good mates in DF or ex SF DF back then), they were never able to stand up stories to my satisfaction, even in private conversation. Gave up contributing to it when they re-wrote my own stuff in a tacky style. I like John Mulcahy and Paddy Prenderville, but Phoenix is rubbish mostly.

Wait to you hear who the new Judge is! Not sure if it's official but if it's the name that I heard then many in the East will have crossed his path (or gunsight!) when he was a line officer.
If it was like an appointment of a right wing or left wing judge to the Supreme Court this guy is major right wing!
Bring back the yardarm and firing squads.

From military.ie (28 July)
The Government has recommended Colonel Peter Richardson to be appointed as Military Judge for the Defence Forces.
Colonel Richardson, who is expected to be formally appointed by the President in the coming weeks, will take up the position which was vacated by Colonel Anthony McCourt, who retired earlier this month.
Born in Dublin in 1952, Colonel Richardson was educated in Colaiste Mhuire, Parnell Square, Dublin. He commenced his military service as a Cadet in October 1971, and was commissioned into the Infantry Corps in 1973. He graduated from University College Galway with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and qualified as a Barrister at Law from the Kings Inns in 1985. He was called to the Bar in the same year.
Colonel Richardson has held a variety of command and staff appointments during his career. He served in each of the three Infantry Battalions within the Second Eastern Brigade; the 2nd, 5th and 27th Infantry Battalions. He has also served as a Staff Officer within the Directorate of Administration, Defence Forces Headquarters. Colonel Richardson has extensive overseas service, having served in Lebanon, Namibia, Haiti and the Ivory Coast."Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "
"No, they're trying to fly the tank"
