acquiring LCMR for counter battery fire Is a no brainer they cost less than a million a piece and the latest version can even acquire drones
That could be a software function rather than any physical limitations of the device itself.

correct you can update the software and lithuania who also took advantage of the Norwegian Giraffe Mk IV/RBS-70 fire sale took that route,

          Interesting

Giraffe 4A is longer ranged though (if/when the time comes could potentially be retained as a gap filler)

          Didn't know that about Lithuania

          • If the media is correct and they’re looking at the tpy 4 for the air corps radar requirement then it would make more sense to acquire sentinel a4 radars on a one to one basis to replace the giraffes along with a battery of NASAMS

Journalists being "correct" about defence matters? Like how every ship is a "Battleship" and every vehicle is a "tank"... I think it's likely to be far too early to say what the Primary Radar purchase might be.

We have seen more suffering than any man should ever see, and if there is going to be an end to it, it must be an end that justifies the cost. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain

                            • AM General has the same mount on a Humvee but IMHO the Supercat is better suited. AFAIK the weapon is the short M119 (L119) rather than the L118 but in any case I wonder why they leave off the muzzle brake as its purpose is to reduce recoil?

                              • Supercat make a great Recce vehicle too in the form of the Jackal 2/Coyote....you could have a common platform for Combat Support Recce and Fire Support.
What are you cackling at, fatty? Too much pie, that's your problem.
