On the kit in use with the wing at present, and pictured, I wonder how much of their experience and influence will have gone into the Plate Carrier competition. Also, the additional rifle mag on the belt is an interesting one. Finally, the H&K416 seems to be the platform of choice in those pics, potentially a replacement for the Steyr in the future?
Big developments coming for the unit under the White paper fairly soon.Good time to be in the unit."Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

2018/2019 Honda CRF250, painted black, and replaced the standard tank with an Acerbis aftermarket plastic one. Ideal for bouncing around the Glen or the Curragh plains. No idea what the quad is though. Replaced the dreadful Suzukis. For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Some gucci new kit being worn by the operators. New MCT suits that can take insert kneepads, new boots(not Haix.still haven't ID'd them) and new IR badges for the EOD techs.
Right up there with the kit the bigger SOF units have. Fair play. Love to know how big the budget for the unit is compared with say a regular Battalion. I would say it is well above it.
