That's not an issue the GP is unanimous on at all

    • Maybe our GP should talk to the most successful GP in the EU, the German Greens. They are the ones leading the charge within the German government to send more military support to the Ukraine. They even support the expansion of the increase in military spending.

      • Apparently proposal on the table for Custume Bks to host Army HQ (not DFHQ) if Commission on DF proposals are carried out and each service has a seperate HQ. Chief of Army to be based here with his/her staff.

          • Just think of all the extra colonel appointments.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Think of the panic when Joint Director Appointments are open to NS/AC Cdr/Lt Col's to interview for!!!.

Director of Military Prosecutions is a Capt (NS) since 2020, traditionally filled by an Army Col.

The Joint Force concept seems to work well for NZ.

Majority of DFHQ positions both officer and NCO are on the Army strength and have been traditiionally in CS4.

DJ1, DJ2, DJ3/5, DJ4, DJ6, DJ7 would all be open to all 3 services in any Joint Structure.

The likes of D Inf, D Cav etc obviously are Army positions, and will prob be moved into the the Army command post if the 3 services are seperated.

                  • COS is on the army strength doesn’t mean it’s an army officer

                    • We don’t need another (joint) HQ, which will just eat into the establishment of operational units!

just give the existing DFHQ operational command of the DF and fill a lot more of the appointments in DFHQ with NS and AC personnel (and for longer periods, ie stop rotating officers every 2 years)

Anyway, CBB has been, and will continue to be in the sights of the Green Party and others. In fairness to him, I don't think Gerard Craughwell made a stellar defence for retaining CBB in Army hands either.
What are you cackling at, fatty? Too much pie, that's your problem.

                            • No, the senator alienated every green party voter and Rathmines resident in one fell swoop. Diplomacy is not his strong point.
And Newstalk know this too. Possibly the most anti DF radio station since they were founded (with the bare exception of Plank perhaps).
Is she still calling herself "Dr"?

If an AC or NS Officer/NCO (below Col/Capt(NS) rank) gets put in a DFHQ appointment, the AC/NS cannot promote against the vacancy. They have to carry the vacancy in their Service.

The Army can promote against the vacancy.

                                Big difference.
