As for Chuck's comment re cushy numbers I saw that first hand in the new Defence Bill which contained the interesting proviso that while reservists could serve overseas, they could not do so in the cushy numbers you refer to. Raises interesting point if you have a specialist RDF man who wants to fill a difficult specialist role when the PDF have no-one to go . Anyway back on topic.

there's a plot beside the Kildare Civil Defence behind the Council buildings. Extensive building of apartments already going on further behind that campus.

To be fair, that's a 12 Yr plus stay of execution for Bricin's. Well, will be longer for CMU 2 Bde until the replacement (badly needed) is built in the Don - looking at 2 yrs or more to get this, from planning to completion, I'd say

2 MMF should have moved to McKee ages ago. Ditto for DFPP
