  • Discussion re IT Article on the DF Review

I had a feeling the DOD would respond. Nothing like a civil servant with a grudge lol
"Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

"No, they're trying to fly the tank"

That's a very spicy article. Review is still online this morning which is encouraging to see....

Truth hurts. The question begs though, are they more offended at the content, or that they weren't invited to the launch?
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Bigger issue is who is leaking

The publication of the review caught the department by surprise. Its head of communications said via WhatsApp that she had a “serious issue” with the publication and complained civil servants had not been invited to the launch of the review or given prior notice
        .

To be fair, it's launch, and the content were well flagged on social media beforehand.

Not leaked, foi. If you use your private phone, laptop etc for any work reasons, its subject to foi. I remember telling our unit that and they laughed. If DOD are using WhatsApp from their phone or a work phone its subject to foi.

Sounds like a Bed of Nails alright, only way NOT to find out who the leakers are is by holding a leak inquiry

Seriously though is the DoD basing itself of the Department for Administrative Affairs?
It was the year of fire...the year of destruction...the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth...the year of great sadness...the year of pain...and the year of joy.
It was a new age...It was the end of history.
It was the year everything changed.

The civil servant named in the article is one of the main problems between the DOD and DF. He has been responsible for many of the areas where the DF has had significant challenges.

I think the Review article in question was discussed here previously and some of the DOD criticisms were flagged here before

I love the bit that responding to Press questions has taken up so much time for members of the DOD...

Irritation over the manner of the launch of the review and the media coverage was also expressed by senior DoD officials including Sec Gen Jacqui McCrum.
The review as launched as it always has been. The politicking behind the scenes to get the media attention it did at the time would be interesting. Step back and look at what had to happen.
