The wildlife looks pretty interesting (Read: Keep the mossie net on your bed at all times)

That jungle looks pretty nice for any wannabe raiders...I've heard the mission isn't going to plan. They've been delaying and calling off efforts to disarm the rebels. They tried something a while back paying a few dollars for each weapon handed in and got swamped. The big camps they're setting up for the rebels to come to seem to have been given to a contracter worse than your average Dublin suburban builder. Also theres something like another 2 or 3 thousand troops due and the UN heads won't move without them anyways....deary deary me lets just hope the rebels don't decide to kick up into the bargain....

Anybody who has any doubts about the Irish army shoul take a good look at these photos and remember these are guys the same as us who are out there of there doing the job they know best and that they train most of their adult lives for....and they are wanted there as they are in Kosovo......Be proud of the DF as they are amongst the best at what they do!

Indeed....up yours FF and your ideas that we don't need a DF...where do ye think the clout we have in the UN came from? The graves of Irish soldiers, thats where.

Apperently they're not out there yet.

Saw a slide show of pics the lads out there sent over to give the lads going in June some idea of the layout, was very good, had the defiant looking girl in red too and probably a few others (hell it was an hour long, gimme a break...) Some great shots of the APC's and rangers. All the lads going out there in june were getting their shots this week, lot of people limping around the army :D

Interesting how the Swedes wear helmets, while our troops considered the bush hat to be sufficient protection...

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

Nice picture, but if there was a debrief on this moment in time in this patrol, I would comment on spacing, position on road, observation of individual arcs of fire and the point mans trigger finger position.

                            Not being critical, just observing.

                            Regards etc

Funny how one Irish lad is wearing a Bush Hat in UN blue (he's fairly relaxed), one guy in the middle is wearing a UN beret, and the GPMG is at the rear, I wouldn't put him there.

Also only the guy on the left has the PRR (Personal Role Radio) they are supposed to be issued to each member of the section.
