I saw the red berets with the green patch on the MPs at exercise Coan. Crap the berets are even poorer quality than usual. I hear they were issued by cadre quicker than anything ever a real labour of joy.

I doubt very much the new beret costs any more than the normal beret.

True but you don't have to replace all the berets at the same time, so it is an extra cost.
