Given the accuracy of the New 40mm Anti aircraft guns, and the Flycatcher Radar(Compared with the Old guns),is it time to do away with the Cessna Towing a Drogue target?
It seems a dangerous practice in any case. Would remote controlled drones, towing drogues perhaps,be a better option?
Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.
I have heard that they are thinking about the cessna pulling a sort of sheet with metal stuck on it, so that the radar picks up the metal, however the rounds and shrapnel simply go through the sheet, with out causing too much damage, of course occasionally the line gets cut,so the aircraft lands, gets another sheet hooked on,and away you go again.

How does shooting at ANYTHING a Cessna could be towing classify as training for air defence? Methinks anything with a jet engine would go at least three time as fast, no?
Take these men and women for your example.
Like them, remember that posterity can only
be for the free; that freedom is the sure
possession of those who have the
courage to defend it.
