JP,
Given the increased level of CIT robberies in Dublin, the information would appear to be out there already.
However the cya rule applies so........

No specific operational information has been released and anything said so far is pretty much in the public domain already. however some comments have been edited.

On cash escorts, these should be done away with or the banks should be charged enough for the service to make a profit for the DF & Garda- which are not alternatives to taking your own precautions

Um..er..Well,you are pushing the bounds of operational info here. Security vans have been used for Cash in transit(CIT) for some time now,but are only escorted by gardai when requested by the banks. The Army only assist when requested (in an ATCP role) by the Gardai.

Cash Escorts
Apologies if this is old hat, but I'm back in the civilised world for a couple of weeks, and notice in the papers that there's been something of a spate of cash transport robberies. Was it not the case that there used to always be a couple of gardai and a section of troops with AUGs running escort for the things? When did that stop? Or was it only for deliveries over a certain size?
