maybe they wont schedule big exercise in july and august - when most people civy spouses are on holidays-
maybe they wont schedule a week on the range starting on St Valentines day
maybe they wont schedule a pre deploymeny exercise lasting a week 10 days before your due to go overseasThings fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Don't be silly....They are going to allow soldiers to bring their kids along on all cash escorts
Wives will be permitted to go on prison details so that the soldiers can have some home cooked food and a good bitching session every night.
Recruits will be permitted to have their mothers do all their cleaning duties.
It will be great....you'll see!

There was a case in the NS recently where a Female A/sea complained that the NS were not providing her with childcare facilities while she was at sea....

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

Imagine if the US military provided something like that. Let's see now....150,000 troops in Iraq alone would mean a lot of jobs for nannies.
In the old days there was a childcare programme and a very good one that gave the best of care to every military child. The person who looked after the child was called a batman and the child was called....you guessed it...."Sir"

Its a 5 years since I left the DF but I do remember that there was a civilian social worker based in the E Bde HQ. The guy in the East had an answering machine on his phone and was very quick to answer any messages. The only direct phone number listed for social workers in the DF is the one for the DFTC 045 441450, for the E Bde ring 01-804600 and ask to be put through to the social worker for the W Bde ring 090-6421000 and ask...., for the S Bde ring 021-4514000 and ask.... Once again the social workers are civilians with all the relevant qualifications and they WILL TRAVEL to meet you if necessary. Do ring. If the unit you are in is not covered by the numbers I have given ie NS or AC ring one of the numbers and ask for the who deals with the service you are in.Last edited by B Inman; 13 February 2005, 20:03.
