Pick a date & stick to it!!!

OK, I have a gripe!!!
I use a week or two each year from my holidays to attend Camp.
So the date for a camp comes out, I put my name in find out if I get the camp and if so go and book the time off from work.
No problem you might say, well there is a problem when those in power keep changing the dates!!!
I'm in a situation where I have already had to change my holidays once, now I find out that the second set of dates that I've been given have now also been changed, so now it looks like I'll not be going to camp at all!!!

May as well just book 2 weeks in Costa Chepo!!!!

And we wonder why we have such high attrition rates among recruits!! Well its no wonder!!!!

You 're not the only one in this situation, I have had similar problems in the past. PDF courses,
overseas mobilisations, etc., can all conspire to bring the axe down on a Reserve unit using a
particular loaction during the year. Especially more so since the DF started using alternative
loactions to the 2 Dublin barracks for overseas rotations. But apart from that, there should be some
solidity in camp dates, especially when the locations are booked well in advance...

Yeah it really is ridiculous about the dates changing. I had my summer planned around camp and now its all up in the air. I have to choose between camp or going on holidays and going to my 6th year debs. Hmmmmm wonder which one ill pick?

dates changing really piss me off too!!!
There has to be either me or the MD there
in work at all times and he went out of his
way to book his holidays around my camps
all fine and dandy till they change the dates!!
can we sue for loss of patience???

Yes, but it's not as if they don't know these things are coming up (eg courses, rotations, etc) - Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance
