Last week there was a news story aired (though it seems that I was the only one who saw it!) that showed off the new equipment on issue to the army I was just wondering if anyone had any information in regards to the new NV equipment, kevlar vests and fritz style helmets?

It was only on for a second so I'm not sure, but yes the Kevlar looks fairly new (As in proper DPM and inserts). Suprised more people hadn't seen it! It was on RTE. The DF uses the Kite weapons site, the Lucie goggles & the Sophie thermal imager - all from Thales. The DF's body armour hasn't changed in it's make-up, only in it's appearance. The Fritz-type helmet is in use with MOWAG troops.

"There are other significant projects in the pipeline:
A tender competition for the acquisition of light tactical armoured vehicles is currently underway.
A tender competition is also in train to replace the FN 9 mm browning automatic pistol within the Defence Forces.
It is also proposed to procure a new lighter protective system consisting of body armour and helmet. "Comment

What is the US ACH/MICH? There is no difference.They have been using the RBR with Mowag crews since the Mowags arrival and most users are satisfied with them. I don't see why they would change their minds now and select an untested helmet.
